This rare white wine grape known as the “Little Rascal” originates in the Piedmont region of north-west Italy dating back to the 15 century. It was almost extinct until it’s revival in the 1970’s. There are around 50 ha known to be planted in Australia in 2006. Catherine Vale is currently the only Hunter Valley grower of the variety.
