Description
This iconic Hunter Grape variety is of French origin but the Hunter Valley is known for a style of wine which ages for many years and the combination of terroir and humid weather conditions have put its mark on this wine style. Catherine Vale has 2 clones of Semillon on 3 different rootstocks. The resultant wines can vary from year to year in their characters, but generally possess the following:
Colour: Vibrant light straw with tinges of pale green
Nose: Intense aroma, showing citrus blossom, pear and star fruit characters.
Palate: Hints of nectarine and citron with the balanced acidity giving a fine finish with lengthy flavours of citrus and pineapple.
